Featured project: artsderbyshire

www.artsderbyshire.org.uk exists to aid in the development of Derbyshire’s creative economy: generating work opportunities and attracting funding to the area.

We are the strategic partners for this project, providing our technical, design and usability expertise. The site, like many other Futurate sites, is driven by Facilitate CMS.

Facilitate CMS: transformational technology

Facilitate CMS is our sophisticated – and yet easy to use – content management platform, and has proven particularly effective because the ease with which Facilitate CMS sites can be updated empowers our clients to manage their own information.

Facilitate’s ‘out of the box’ content management tools are powerful and effective, and can be easily enhanced by its wide range of Extension Packs.

www.artsderbyshire.org.uk utilises a wide range of these extensions, including the very sophisticated ‘Mini-Sites’.

Mini-sites: empower your customers

As with any small organisation, marketing is one of the greatest challenges for artists seeking to advertise their work on the web. First, an effective website must be designed and built; and then precious time is required for work to increase site traffic.

www.artsderbyshire.org.uk are using the Facilitate CMS ‘Mini-Sites’ Extension Pack to alleviate this problem for Derbyshire artists. The mini-sites are simple to build and constitute effective web presences; and all marketing concerns are handled by the artsderbyshire.org.uk marketing team (in collaboration with us).

There are currently more than 600 artists registered on the site; and the feedback from users and stakeholders has been outstanding.

The site is accessible at W3C WAI Double A.

“artsderbyshire.org.uk operates as a one-stop-shop for arts information in Derbyshire and Derby City.  It is a fantastic showcase for all artistic activities.…it will raise the profile of artists and lead to their work reaching a wider audience.”
